My research interests include the application of nanomaterials in the oncologic field.

    My research activity focuses on studying stroma-tumor cell interactions in 3D cell culture models of pancreatic cancer. More specifically, I am interested in evaluating the response to chemotherapeutic agents of pancreatic cancer cell lines and patient-derived tumor cells grown in 3D hydrogel-based scaffolds in order to validate them as predictive models of patients’ response to treatments.

    I am a Pharmacist with acquired skills in Analytical Chemistry, with particular focus on synthesis and evaluation of innovative micro-shaped materials and fluorescent nano-sensors by MIP (Molecularly Imprinted Polymers) technology for identification and separation of biomarkers, pharmaceuticals, and biocompounds. My research activity is centered on the development of new nano-patterned platforms for quantifying metabolic changes in mediated drug resistance.

    I obtained a Master’s degree in Medical, Veterinary, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from the University of Parma in Italy. My academic focus was on cellular and molecular biology, with particular emphasis on the maintenance, isolation, and purification of human endothelial and epithelial cells. Throughout my studies, I developed a strong proficiency in key immunohistochemistry techniques and gained valuable experience analyzing heart and lung tissues from rat and mouse models.

    I am a physicist with a Master's degree in Biomedical Physics. During my PhD in Materials Science, I gained extensive experience in the synthesis and design of nanoparticles, with a focus on plasmonic nanoparticles and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for biomedical applications. My research primarily focused on developing stimuli-responsive materials for their use in hyperthermia treatment and targeted drug delivery.
